Uma reviravolta significativa ocorreu na Câmara de Vereadores de Camaragibe na tarde desta quarta-feira (08), após uma decisão judicial que determina que o vereador mais idoso, Geraldo Alves, assuma a presidência do Legislativo. A medida foi tomada após uma sessão tumultuada realizada no dia 1º de janeiro de 2025, que resultou na nulidade da eleição da Mesa Diretora.
A decisão judicial acolheu parcialmente um pedido de tutela de urgência, estipulando que a Câmara Municipal deve realizar a sessão para a eleição de sua nova Mesa Diretora em até 5 (cinco) dias corridos. Com base nos artigos 300 e 303 do Código de Processo Civil, a Justiça também declarou a vacância do cargo de Presidente da Câmara, em decorrência da anulação da eleição ocorrida no início do ano.
Além disso, a Justiça determinou que a presidência da Câmara seja exercida pelo vereador mais idoso, conforme estipulado pelo artigo 15 do Regimento Interno da Casa Legislativa. A nova eleição para a Mesa Diretora deverá ser presidida pelo vereador mais votado entre os presentes, seguindo os artigos 3º e 9º do mesmo regimento.
A decisão judicial ainda alertou os envolvidos sobre as consequências do descumprimento injustificado da ordem, que pode configurar litigância de má-fé e levar a responsabilizações por crime de desobediência, além da possibilidade de multa.
A população de Camaragibe aguarda ansiosamente a nova sessão e a definição dos novos rumos da Câmara Municipal, após um início de ano conturbado e repleto de incertezas.
